Change start time of a clip and it jumps to who knows where

I've recorded some guitar phrases so the audio clips I perfectly normal and not imported. I want to move one or more of the clips to correct some slight timing issues but when I go into the Track Inspector and click on Start Time and change the counter, the clip flies off a number of measures to the right. I think is may be something to do with Timestamps, but when I search in Help I only get something about 'importing broadcast files' and this is not relevant here.

I can do what I need to do in the Event Inspector at the top of the screen, but why doesn't the similar field in the Track Inspector work the same?

This happens to me sometimes too, try to nudge something sightly earlier (left) and it jumps many measures to the right and as you say changing the start time in the clip section of the inspector doesn't work. Hasn't done it for a while now so I didn't bother to ask the question, but it was infuriating me for a while, so I'll be interested to see the answer.

Hmmm...I do this quite often, and never had a problem. Is there any chance that Time Format is misset so you think you're adjusting measures but you're actually adjusting hours?

FWIW on a related topic - if you have "Select Track Envelope with Clips" selected under Options, moving a clip using the Inspector doesn't move the automation along with it.
