[Solved] Why can't Firefox find Cakewalk.com?

It's surprising that cakewalk.com can't be accessed with Firefox. It's the only website that I've found that Firefox doesn't recognize. Why? Strangely I can't find any refernece to this using search forum.

No problem accessing it from Firefox 8.0.1 or any previous version from here, well apart from posts losing their formatting that is, but that's been noticed by many people.. Try clearing the cache ? Tools > Options > Advanced > Network

Same here no problems accessing the forum with any version of Firefox but you may wish you hadn't bothered if you get here with the latest version. Use V5 or earlier if you want to see paragraphs and line breaks in your posts.

You can use Firefox but it is very lumpy.
I use Chrome (just for Sonar Forum Basically) and it works fantastically well.  I would forget using Firefox for the forum - Just download Chrome and off you go!!

I never understood why people use firefox.
I've tried Safari, Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome.
For me, I've found Chrome to be the quickest, un-bloated and easiest browser.
I have heard that some people have had issues trying to download some things with Chrome and not being able too.

I just install 3 'extensions' on Chrome and I'm good to go.
I use one called IE Tab which makes it possible to download those things people seem to have problems with.
(FWIW the only download I have ever needed IE Tab for was for iLok drivers.) Other than that everything I download works as expected.
I use Add Block - Self explanatory.
And one other one I forget the name of. It just shows you a little flag in the address bar to let you know which country a page is coming from.

    Chrome for the win!

    Mike

IE9 works fine and it's the only browser that supports true graphics hardware acceleration.

THis is the error message I get:

    Bad Request

HTTP Error 400. The request is badly formed.

I used to be able to access cakewalk in the past then all of a sudden, I started getting these error messages for any URL with cakewalk.com. This first started about 4 months ago and I thought I saw others complaining about the same thing, yet I find no posts using forum search.

I fixed it. It was caused by corrupted cookies in Firefox. Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" Remove all cookies. Thanks for all the suggestions, which led me to a solution.

    Thanks for posting this.
I've been tearing my hair out looking for a solution. I was about to download Chrome.
Not much point having a help button on Sonar if the page won't open.
Removed all cookies as you said and the problem went away.
    Cheers

FYI, there are three different ways to access Cakewalk help. The web based help is the default when connected to the internet, a local help file in chm format and a pdf version.

To force local help when connected to the internet check "Always Use Offline Help" in Preferences > File Advanced. The Advanced options are visible when the Advanced radio button is selected at the bottom of the Preferences dialog.

The pdf version aka the SONAR X3 Reference Guide is available for download here http://www.cakewalk.com/S...and-Quick-Start-Guides

For me it's the opposite. With Chrome I can only view the forum but not log in, whereas Firefox works ok.

I'm forced to use Firefox at work and it works just as well as Chrome does at home.

    Strike my last answer!
It was still causing me problems I had to clear the cookies and restart Firefox every time I need the Cakewalk site.
Chrome is now installed. So far, so good!
