Demo - It's allright

It's just a demo that I've made for one contest. Now I consider to make a complete song from this demo. I would be thankful for your opinion.

This sounds like a finished product that's ready for radio play.  It has a nice, modern sound, yet, it's kind of retro at the same time.  It's mastered very loud, which would make it good for clubs, but could cause ear fatigue to the casual listener.  The song that followed was quite good, too.  Welcome to the club!

    All the best,
    Lynn

    Thanks, Lynn. I thought about:
    1. Record live drums,
    2. Make string section more realistic
    3. And to make a more transparent and (may be) modern mix.
These are three things that annoying me at this time.
But may be it's unnecessary and it will be enough to make some changes in mix.

Dude, you've got a great voice and talent! For a demo, this is pretty darn good. I hear what you say about the strings, but the drums aren't bad the way they are. I'd like the piano to be a little fuller, but that's about it. Great job and good luck!

Yeah, love your voice.  The whole thing seemed to start "bright" but it came together in just a few seconds and is a really fine mix and song.  Yeah, I like the drums as they are but, that's me.  Great song.  Welcome to the board!  Your drums and bass make a great bottom for this tune.

Oh yeah, very catchy commercial production.  Nice job.  All of the elements sound pro and ready for the radio.  Good voice too, by the way, it's very radio friendly.  Chicks will dig it!

    Hi, Serge,

This is an excellent, radio-ready pop song with great performances and a fresh, clean, modern, pro sounding mix, and the vocals and harmonies were absolutely fantastic!

    Amazing work, thanks for sharing.

    Best Wishes!

+1 to the above - the mix sounds good!   Your voice reminds me a little of Daughtrey, very strong.

For the drums, I think the kit works relatively well, but it could use a little more nuance in the main rhythm - it sounds a bit repetitive IMO.  Perhaps some ghost hits on the snare, and a little more velocity variation (while maintaining the excellent punch that a song like this needs).

That is excellent on every level!!  Wow!!  I would buy that.  I guess if you want to you could improve the production with other strings or drums, but I think what you have here is superb.

I hope you have great success with your music.

Hi Serge - I normally don't listen to songs on the forum which are preempted with the disclaimer of "unfinished" or "in work", but I made an exception to this one and am really glad that I did!  this is just absolutely excellent!

the strings could use an upgrade but it's not something that really deters from the song the way it is.  drums sound really good as is.  a real drummer might help, it might hurt...depends on the drummer!

you have a great voice and the performances of all of the instrumentation is top notch!  the mix is fantastic!  excellent work all around.
