Dynamically changing the bpm
Hi guys, sorry if I ask a stupid n00b-question, but I have been looking for 2 hours now, and couldn't find a solution to my problem. I would like to change the bpm in Sonar x3 during the song. I am working on a tribal-song, that starts out with 90 bpm, will do a slow transition to 180 bpm, stay there for some time and will finally go down to 90 bpm once more. The transitions should be spread linearly (or better logarhythmatically) over a defined period of time. Is something like that possible? I am using Kontakt and the drumsamples in Kontakt will adapt to the bpm-values they receive from Sonar, so the bpm-adaption should take place within the sonar-project. Love, Inja.

From the "Views" menu select Tempo. you get a nice graph of tempo against time. draw the tempo you want on it.

O.K. I've tried Project > Insert Series of Tempos and that works great. BUT, I've also tried drawing tempo changes graphically in the Tempo view. And that doesn't have any effect. I can draw the the curve, but it doesn't have any effect on the bpm? Anything I forgot to do?

Yes, I think so - at least I read it twice ;-) 1) I start a project 2) I add some midi at e.g. 70 bpm 3) Views/tempo opens the graph 4) I draw in it 5) I press play and the bpm remains the same..?
