[Solved] Melodyne Essential tools - no split tool?

Is it possible to split notes with Melodyne essential plugin that comes with Sonar x3 Pro.  The tools that are available are only a pointer, hands, and the magnifier.  Is that all that comes with essential plugin or I'm I missing something?

Thanks

Not terribly helpful since the word 'split' doesn't appear on that page.

If I remember correctly you can split a detected note by double clicking at the point you want to split, or something similar to that. It's not very well documented.

On page 270 of Sonar X3 Power (Scott Garrigus):

    6. When you hover your mouse over the Top zone of a note, the Main tool temporarily becomes the Note Separation tool. You can double-click in this area to split a note into two separate notes, allowing you to change the melody by adding and adjusting new notes.

Thanks for the mention, Tim! I hope you're enjoying the book.

I just confirmed you can in fact split notes with Essential, I thought because there wasn't a split tool you couldn't do it. Ya learn something new every day...at least in this forum

I suggest the following. Hover over the note's centerline and move the mouse up slowly. You'll see where the tool turns into the double-arrow split tool and then you'll know where to double-click.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!
