[Solved] Fit to improvisation - shrinks my audio track - timing is way off.
I have an audio track ( song with vocals ). I want to make a new acc track for a choir
I have the audio track laid down audio snap says it's 188 BPM... yeah right...
More like 93-98...
I set my project tempo to 98.
I laid down a ref track using a Kick drum... 4/4 time.
when i listen to it it's right on ( the recorded song.. which does drift in tempo.. so I have to match the midi clock signal to be in time with the beat timing on the recording.. ( I plan on playing along until I pretty much have enough to ditch the backing track.
I select my ref track with the kick drum.
I hit process / Fit improvisation.
When I do this my audio track goes to pot and shrinks and the timing is.... well totally screwed up to put it mildly.
What on earth am I missing here? I've been at this for over a day.
I thought the temp would change with the song as it went along, basically nudging up and down and the 4/4 beats the i laid down would end up being in measures of BPM to match the song.
Why can't it leave my audio track alone?
Obviously, I have not used sonar for anything too complicated.. yet...
Thanks for any help.
