Drum Trigger Problem

Hello,

I am using Drumazon 808/909 VST's for my drums.  I am using the VST's internal step sequencer, triggering different parts by entering a single note in the PRV for the sequence I wish to run.

Problem is, if I start the song in between 2 different triggers, it's obvious that I will not hear any drums since the trigger note is before the point I hit play.  I won't hear drums again until the next trigger.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for me so I can hear the drums wherever I am in the track.   I know I can bounce the audio, but I am not ready to commit.

Thank You!

Freeze or bounce is the only way. Freeze is fast and easily undone when needing to make changes to the track.

Yea I thought so.  It's a bit of a pain because sometimes I am programming fills and things that I need the beat there for.  Oh well.  Thanks again "scook"!

Would the freeze feature help you out?  It's pretty easy to freeze/unfreeze a synth if you want to make changes in the pattern.

I can't see any other way to really handle this with that synth unless you wanted to do your programming in Sonar (I assume you could play the individual notes).

(whoops, scook answered while I was making sure I was using the right names for the feature)

Don't ask the question if you cannot live with the answer.

Hi Andy,

Well the thing is, there are so many parameters in the VST itself that you lose if you use Sonar's Step Sequencer.  you can mold each hit.

Thanks for the freezing advice though :)
