Pop song, rough mix

Here's a song (1st rough mix), I appreciate any criticism.

Written by Tony B, sung by Sheila S, all music, recording, production etc. by me, all done in Sonar 8.5. Peaks at ~ -7dB

https://soundcloud.com/robbykband/just-the-other-day I hope that works, I've kinda abandoned soundcloud.

My home studio is bass challenged so I've already ported the song to my car stereo and found the bass, esp. kick is too much.

Please let me know if you hear of anything else! I hope to convince the client on Friday to have this mastered by one of our forum people.

The song is in my mind: verses are a dream, interlude is alarm clock. The song writer sees it differently.

On another level and personal, a song about conversion and cancer.

Thanks much, RobbyK

Best, Robby K

Sheila S has a very pleasant voice which you appear to have captured well and Tony B seems to know how to write some good lyrics.

Musically what's there seems to fit the song well however here the mix sounds almost mono with very little spread across the sound stage.

Hey Robbie - hope you're feeling better!

this is really nice, love the sound, the vocals are really good. Sheila has a sweet voice.

but mixwise it needs some work - as wookiee said, it's all down the center, you need to spread it out in the stereo field.

work on the mix some more and you'll have a great tune here!
