Running Through the Snow (WIP/DEMO)

Hey all, it's been awhile since I've posted or been on the forums (I have a real job these days). Finally getting some new material finished up, here is a demo/rough of a pop/indie/electronica-ish song. I've always had a hard time classifying my music into a genre so definitely let me know what this reminds you of. Vocal takes I did this morning over less than an hour, they are not touched up yet.

Vox sounds a little dry but that might be how you want it.  The Clap/Snare could come down a little whilst you are singing but again that might be how you want it.  Other than that the mix works here.

As to categorising that seems to be something none music peeps need so they only listen to what they "Like".

I agree with Wookie that the lead vocals seem a little dry against the music and the claps are a bit loud, but otherwise the mix sounds good here.   Crisp and punchy.   I like the synth arpeggios running through the tune.

Totally dig this song.  Love the mood, the vocals fit nice, catchy but not beat to death.  Has an 80's feel, not sure if you're going for that or not, but that's what I got out of it.  Better than most of what came out of the 80's my friend.

    Really cool tune.

Thanks for the comments so far; I have added more reverb to the vocals since this mix, they are a bit too dry.

It seems the 80's sound is coming back into fashion these days, so if it sounds that way, I hope it captures those elements while still feeling contemporary and new.

The synth arpeggio and bass line are definitely my favorite: they are the basis of what really started this song

I really like the song.  It took a while for me to get the vocals in line with the music.  I guess that onluy makes sense to me.  I guess it sounded like two different songs.  After hearing farther into the song I went back and the whole thing sounded different.  Everything fit nicely.  Again, I really like your tune and wouldn't attempt to categorize.  It's difficult to categorize the Pugtones music so we don't try.  Just let it play!!
