Paypal email scam
Got a message from "service@intl.myapps-paypal.com" with a subject "Your PayPal Account Has Been Limited. Here's What You need to do."
Of course this is bogus so I didn't even open it. Just a heads up to be careful.

I think I get about 5 of these a day, lol! They're relentless.

I only get fake love letters and viagra ads and sometimes they say I have a chance to get a lot of money if only I make a money contribution first. And nastiest emails are those that sell pills to achieve different kind of miraculous feats...

I've had a few of these Drew, which I always forward to PayPal at this email address: spoof@paypal.com I don't suppose reporting each fake email to them does any good, but you never know. I don't just immediately delete/ignore these emails for one reason - a couple of years ago I actually got a genuine 'account limited' notification from them. As I'd been routinely deleting the other 'notifications' and obvious spam that appeared to come from PayPal, it wasn't until I actually tried to pay for something that I found out one of them was real. I phoned them up and they managed to resolve the matter there and then, but I did ask them if they couldn't think of a better way to notify customers than sending an easy-to-fake email. They said they were considering not putting any clickable links in such emails, rather they would be asking customers to sign into their account normally to check any notification was genuine. So that's what I always do now - first I pass on the suspected fake email (they usually respond confirming it was indeed a fake), and then I sign into my account just to check.

Worth noting that PayPal will always refer to you by name, whereas scammers will call you 'Dear Customer' or similar.

I report them too. They all deserve to be "had" by 419eater.com (I think Herb originally posted the 419 link). These scammers get some of their own medicine and worse. http://www.419eater.com/ some wild reading here. J

Yes, you can log into PayPal and it should give you this sort of notification when you log in or if you go to "Resolution" (or something like that).
