u-he Presswerk - one compressor to rule them all?

Just in case you didn't have enough compressor plugins already, here's a new one that may be worth a try.  u-he, makers of soft-synths extraordinaire, the Satin tape emulation, and other cool tools, have released Presswerk, a feature-laden plugin that should be able to handle any dynamics processing you'll ever need.  $89 until the end of the year; you'll pay $129 in 2015. 
 
Yes, the plugin market is flooded with compressors, but u-he is not just another developer.  All their stuff is well worth checking out.

    Wonder how much CPU this thing eats for breakfast. Its U-He, and usually uncompromising I hear... :P
     
    It looks like it offers quite an extensive set of features.

    It does use some CPU, not as much as I'd feared, but you probably won't be using this on every track of a large session.  The free download runs in demo mode indefinitely, with periodic noise added, so you can try it on your own system at length before deciding whether to buy.
     
    One of the cool things about this plug is the inclusion of presets that emulate a bunch of vintage compressors: 1176, LA-2A, dbx160, API 2500, Vari-Mu, etc.  Fun stuff!

    Yes it does... that makes it reeeeeaaaallly cheap; however I think I may just grab "Hive", beta available...  at the beta price, that'll be sweeeet tooo... check it out and download over at kvr... here
