Hi Cian,

Wow, lots going on in this track, very creative stuff. Great chorus! Mix is pretty good, a couple of things though; the rap vocals seem a little lost here and there, notably when the heavy synth/guitar sound comes in. Also, for the genre I think the kick could be a little more pronounced.

Thanks James,
That's the 2 areas of concern. Since this mix, I have dropped the heavy guitar just a tad and automated the vox on said section. Again, I've compressed the kick drum too. :) This track has been a bit of a devil to get the mix right.
Cheers for letting us know the issues with the production.

Assuming that the remix has not been posted I agree with James.

Cool song.   The rap part is really buried too far in the background (behind the strings), it is hard to understand the words.   The kick could also be "bigger".   Basically what James said above;)   Even the strings during Cian's pop vocal part are a little too loud in comparison to the rest of the track.

That said, the song is really good as are performances.   Mix needs some tweaking yet.

I love the melodic hook. This is epic. The strings are conflicting with the voice. Maybe drop them back or an octave down when rapping. I rally like the singer. Very creative work!

Thanks all for your feedback, crits and praises. im really impressed with the track and how it turned out, russ painstakingly mixing down a zillion updated versions of it.

I did not shoot any of the videos but took about 10 relevant vids from youtube and edited them to fit song while also shooting some of my own to personalise it, that too took quite some time too.

Happy 2015 to all

Yeesh - you really have your act together. Production is awesome. Love the video. The rapping is not my cup of tea but I'm pretty much off the grid. You've got a great voice and when that is the focus, the tune shines. And yes NYC is an interesting and at times beautiful place to be. Excellent work.

Cian,

This is really excellent - and I agree with Lynn, you've come a long way my friend. I think it's fun to watch people's journey through music...I REMEMBER when you first came on the scene here and I'm really glad you've kept going. Do you live in Manhattan by the way? My companies corp HQ is there, in mid-town...I'm gonna be there periodically...could be cool to meet up for coffee. :) Great work on this song.

I have critiques of this song, but that have mostly to do with timing, cadence and mix of particular instruments, but not of the sound, melodies or lyrics...the video is also great. You have something VERY cool here, ala Bruce Hornsby...

Manny - Cheers. I mean Im not totally worshipping NY, at the end of the day it is a big concrete city  lol, but there is something special and unique about that place. If you have any experiences good or bad, leave a comment on the video.

Starise - Thanks for your input as usual, appreciated.

Joshua - Gotta keep upskilling and getting better, thats what its all about and gotta reach higher. No I dont, Ive been there a few times and have got plenty of relations over there. If I pop over I will drop you a line for sure. I think at this stage the song is complete, in light of time frameresources etc its what we could get done. It would be great to do live with a full setup.

Cheers all

That was good!   Catchy lines in chorus, and love all the playing/orchestration.   The vocals sound great.    The mix is clear and punchy overall, though I agree with others that the bottom could be a little fatter.

Great video too - I think the "personal" shots you added really give the whole thing a more personal feel.
