Strange Soft Synth Issue - Please Help (SOLVED)

I am hoping someone might be able to assist me with a strange issue that just occurred.

Suddenly, my soft synths in Sonar X3e Producer  have stopped receiving midi signals from my USB keyboard. (MAudio Keystation 49ES).

What makes this strange is:

1. The Midi input signal is being read by Sonar - according to the midi icon in my sys tray - The Light Flashes when I press a key
2. When I load X2 - the synths work fine.
3. When I load a stand alone synth (without Sonar) e.g. Rapture - everything works fine.
4.  When I play a soft synth with an existing midi track, it correctly plays via the  outputs like it is supposed to.

Through process of elimination, it is an input issue only with X3.

A little background:

The issue started happening when I deleted a soft synth from Synth view.  (What happened I deleted a synth - and forgot to check "Delete associated tracks."  So I undid my delete, checked "delete associated tracks"  and redid the delete in synth view.  Since then, I have had this issue.

This problem has put a halt to my otherwise productive morning.     I have double checked my midi input settings in options - and I have tried different settings on the soft synth channel itself.  (e,g, changing the input to "Midi Omni"  (overall and for my Keystation.)

Has anyone ever had such an issue?   Is there some way to "roll back" my synth settings in X3?

I am sure it is something simple that I am overlooking.  Any suggestions and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I figured it out.  In the synth rack property pages I checked "force midi echo on current track" and that did the trick.  I must have somehow unchecked it without realizing it.
