this is a new arrangement of this tune i'm working up.....
please let me know if this translates smoothly or not on your system
It's a funky rock thing.. laid back, kinda trippy...
the headphone mix is fun

think the low end might be too strong, or at least the bass track

    link doesn't work

A rack of noisemakers is not a definitive substitute for creativity. (though it does seem to help)

Works very well. At the start I thought it wasn't balanced on the panning, as my left ear felt heavier, but that soon passed once the other instruments came in. Gotta love that bass movement. :)

    hi gus,
thank you for checking this one out.

    that beginning, well,
you know, i forgot when i programmed that drum part (it's been several years, i don't even have the machine i used anymore!) that i used three different kits throughout, and they don't really play well together!!
    LOL
so i had to do a 'compromise' eq setting that worked for all the drum kits...
but i'm thinking it might be worth it to cut and paste the drum track (it's a single stereo file) three times, and eq each section separate of each other, then just do crossfades from kit to kit.
that way, i can tame some of those overly big parts, and get it to work all the way thru...
i'm not sure what those kits were, i think they were just called 'synthetic'

Nice, that is the wave file, much better definition across the whole thing you can feel the air.

Now as well as feel that bass I can hear all that growl in the top of the bass and the movement much clearer, must be the MP3 compression that looses it.

    thanks for listening, rimshot...
i usually don't use synthetic drums with that loop vibe going on,
so it was a bit of departure (experiment) for me.

but i like the trippy little licks going off in every direction,
kinda my updated version of a funky floyd thing, i guess

thank you for going back to the wav file...
it really DOES make a difference,
kills me when people say they can't hear a difference!!
    heheh

but as it is, by now, i've re-eq'd the whole thing again.....
moving the low kick up about 20hz worth, dipping the bass there and lifting the low end of the bass (40hz-500hz) up about 1 db ......
and done some micro editing, taken a little more of the ear candy out,
changed the echo and the reverb settings,
added reverb to the vocals (they only had short slapback before).....
    it is getting dialed in.

    you guys help.

the strat I used for this recording,
is purely one of a kind, a custom build:
The Williams Special is a Les Paul-Strat-Mustang-Explorer hybrid, with hollow body cavities, Mustang scale length, built like a paul with mahagony and maple top, with vintage-dimension strat body, explorer headstock.

a custom build (obviously!) i think it's pretty unique...
started out with a EMG SA assembly, that was changed to a pair of Wilde L-280's in neck and middle, with a duncan Lil 59'r in the bridge.
folks sometimes think that the bridge pickup is moved out, but it's really the neck and middle that are moved towards the bridge, because of the scale length and the 24 frets...
it's kinda like brian may's red special that way.....

if you are interested in HARD SPECS, i can post those as well.

Love the bass line. Thanks for sharing this fine tune. It's refreshing to hear such a collage of melodies all formed so well.
