    No Waves stopped doing iLok. They either store the authorization on your computer, or on a USB stick you provide., You get to choose which.

    You have to be careful of Waves.  When they release stuff cheap it usually means it is about to be replaced, and then your cheap purchase needs to be upgraded at the next update of MS, etc.  And that won't be cheap.  All the companies do that, but Waves is very good (or bad) about it.
