Help getting software back

Hi all, hope all are ready for the holiday-I know I am. Unfortunately, last week my hard drive in my laptop totally failed without any warning at all. I just replaced the hard drive with a new one, did a factory rescue and am beginning from scratch with a brand new clean copy of Windows 7 and virtually empty HD (the upside of a disk failure?) I am having trouble restoring my images and am ready to just download all of the software again. My question is, I have been updating Sonar every release  starting with 8.5 Producer to X3 Producer. If I am starting from scratch, can I just install X3 Producer, or does it build on previously installed versions? Can I re-download the program from my account (with the serial #, of course)?

I used Macrium, and EaseToDo free programs to create images of my C drive and am having problems restoring them and getting all of my stuff back. Does anyone know of a reliable program in which to create backup images?

Thanks in advance and wishing you all a happy holiday season.

Each installation is separate, so can simply install X3, but some legacy plugins require an advanced install of previous versions (just to get the plugins desired). The only exception I know of is V-Vocal which requires a minimum installation of a version which contained it.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Each version of SONAR is the complete retail product whether purchased as an upgrade or not. So the X3 upgrade is the full product. If you purchased the download version of the product, it should be available in your store account for download. After installing X3, you will still need to apply the X3e patch from the X3 support page.

Plug-ins have been dropped from 8.5 to X3. If you need the Lexicon Pantheon or Cakewalk Tuner, those will have to be installed from 8.5. Cakewalk Analyst and Beatscape were last bundled with X1. V-Vocal, R-Mix and VC-64 were last bundled with X2. All of the plug-ins except V-Vocal are separately installable using the advanced install option. V-Vocal is bundled with the SONAR program itself, so when running the advanced install option SONAR (the first checkbox in the pick list) will have to be installed.
