Just so you know, the bass lines in Seinfeld come from a keyboard.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

I had a banjo for a couple of months years ago and loved it. I found my chicken pickin fingerstyle guitar technique translated perfectly, and I also found that things I learned on banjo translated well to the guitar. But in the end I decided the thing was just too damn loud. I mean my ears would ring after an hour with that thing. Anyhow, I ended up playing a banjo version of The Ace Of Spades with a few friends which we recorded in their attic on an ancient 4 track. It was as rough as hell and the banjo part was largely a hit and miss improvised affair which worked in some places, not in others. I should post a link to it. Warning, sound quality is pretty terrible and it wasn't mixed or anything like that, but we did have a lot of fun playing it:

I also had an accordion at one point. What a full, rich sound it had. I really wanted to learn how to play it. But again, way too loud for the neighbors.

Coming from flute and sax, especially my old Baritone sax, it so nice with the bass to put on my headphones and the Mark Studio and play without caring about bothering the neighbours. Especially as I am in a hotel. When I don't have my headphones, this is my practice speaker, and it does well.
