TASCAM US-1200

Any Win8.1 x64 users?  How is it?  Latency?

Gear junkies want to know!

UPDATE:  I ended up getting the new US-16x08.  Great interface!

Craig Anderton has been testing and reviewing the Tascam interfaces and they are looking good.

I bought this unit a couple of weeks ago and have some problems with it. Maybe someone can help.

Im using Tascam US-1200 with Sonar LE 8.5 and have problem with it in Multritrack mode. When i choose Multitrack mode in mixer mode, the signal that i want record disappears and nothing goes to Sonar. I put mode back to Stereo Mix mode and all works fine, signal goes forward to daw and i can record. I tried change output modes too but nothing works. Is there something other settings somewhere to try?

Second problem; I'm trying to do the following: I want record guitar through interface with Sonar.I use headphones while record and i want hear my playing at same time in recording session and hear it with playback wich comes from Sonars masteroutput to my headphones. I've already recorded before other tracks (drums, bass, synths etc) and now i want add rest of instruments in project.

Is this possibly do this way, do I make something wrong? I tried same thing in Sonar, i put input echo button on but the is so much latency so i cannot record anything with it. I set masterbus output to Tascam 1200 speakers, so i can hear whole song from headphones. Is this wrong way?

I've done all the settings which were told in Manual. In Sonars audio options page, there is four driver modes: MME, ASIO, WDM, WASABI. Only MME works with me.

I've got the UH7000 and in the multitrack mode there is a slider for computer or input.  That needs to be set to computer, of course.

You should get your interface to work w/ ASIO - which is the music standard (note:  WDM or WASABI might work better, so it is worthwhile to check them).  MME is the oldest and slowest mode, which is why you are having so much latency.  Make sure you have the latest drivers and try w/ ASIO.
