volume fader snapping back to originial position, how do i change that?
just purchased X3 Studio, ( upgraded from Sonar 6 Producer) ok, I must have made a change on something without realizing what I did, therefore don't know where to go to un-do. on track 1, I have session drummer 3 playing a small loop. once the loop starts playing, regardless of where I move the fader ( up or down) in console view for that track it snaps back to the original position. or if I adjust the fader up or down prior to playing the clip, as soon as I hit play it snaps back to a preset position. how do I un-do this? thanks for any help

Sounds like the fader is following an automation line. Click on the "R" icon to see if this solves the problem. Walt

It does sound like a volume envelop. Opening the automation lane for a track creates a volume automation. In addition to disabling read, the envelops can be deleted. To delete the automation, in the track view, either change the edit filter in track to display automation or open the automation lanes. When the envelop is displayed, right-click on the envelop line to delete it.

thanks, I will check that out. I thought it had to be some sort of automation issue, but honestly don't remember ticking that feature in the track view, I just dragged & dropped the midi file right on to the track. didn't record any kind of automation on that track, that's why I hadn't even thought of looking into that. I thought the automation had to be recorded while the track was playing thus recoding your movements? is that not correct?

Automation does not need to be recorded. Opening the automation lanes for a track will create a volume envelop.

Hi: Sounds like a Zero Controllers When Play Stops issue. Try checking it off. It is in Preferences, Project, Midi. dan
