Akai MPK mini MK 2 does not work with ACT Learning.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure this out.

I have an Akai MPK mini MK2 USB MIDI controller. The pads and everything work, but I cannot map them using ACT. I try to set up the MPK mini in Preferences > Controller Surfaces and I put it under ACT MIDI Controller, the MPK mini shows up when I am making the profile, but once the profile is completed, the fields for Output and Input are blank and I cannot use ACT to map controls. Basically, the MPK mini will work, but only using the default midi controller mapping.

Is this something with Sonar, a deficiency with the MPK mini, or am I missing something? I've read others mention that they were able to get ACT working and to map controls, even with the MPK mini, but I simply cannot figure this out. I've been trying for hours on end and I am at the end of my rope on this. Just now, I wound up shouting "f*** it all!" so loud I scared my cats!

To be specific, I am trying to map the K1 through K4 QLogic knobs to map to things like Cutoff, Resonance, and Envelope in the  Z3TA softsynth, but I would love to generally get ACT Learning to work.

FYI: The MPK mini does not have any drivers. I updated its firmware, too, and that did nothing to fix the problem.
