SysEx into Sonar or Librarian Software for my hardware synth patches

I know I can dump sysex from my hardware synths, but is there an easier/better way to get patch info? I don't think I've ever owned a patch librarian on the PC, though I had plenty on the Mac.
 
I'd like this for two reasons:
1. To keep the patch data with my projects (for the few times I use hardware synths).
2. I think that some soft synths can use the hardware patch data (thinking FM8 here)
 
Any ideas would be appreciated.
