VST Scan query (SOLVED)

Hi

I have Sonar X2, and in Preferences, have two folders listed as VST Scan folders. I also have "Scan for VST plug ins on start up" checked. I have recently downloaded a new VST effect and the .dll is in one of the named folders, but the new VST is not showing up , and "Scan VST Folders" is grayed out in Preferences.

Any help appreciated.
Bill

Open the Plug-In Manager and see if the plug-in is listed as a registered plug-in. Also see if you scan VST plug-ins from there. Strange that it would be grayed out...

It's not listed in the plug in manager, but I guess this is because it has not been scanned. I have 21 listed. The new one is Amplitube 3 (the free version). Amplitube 2DUO  is listed in the the Manager, and sits right next to Version 3 in C/Progam files/Cakewalk/Vstplugins, which is one of the two paths I have set as VST Scan folders.

Does the stand alone version of Amplitube 3 work?

Thanks. For some reason I didn't have the last build of X2, and updating has resolved the issue.
