Sonar X1 A-D updates not downloading.

I've been trying to reinstall everything since my last PC crash and am finding that all the updates for Sonar X1 are failing about 53 megs in, roughly speaking. I've tried multiple times, in addition to limiting them to one at a time, to no avail. Please advise.

All I can recommend is you use a LAN connection, not wireless,  and set your computer to never shut down or sleep.
I also recommend you upgrade to X3e.
X1 was buggy and the upgrade price is just way to reasonable to not do this.

Yeah thanks, but I can't upgrade right now. I'm retired. Just trying to set up my current stuff. I got D to download finally. Trying C again...

Gonna burn it all to DVD this time.

Some folks report success using Chrome - which I have had good success with, as well.

You might also consider using some sort of download manager that can resume downloads if one fails.  I used to think that Chrome had the ability to recover and resume a failed download, but that does not appear to be within default operation, if I recall correctly from looking it up a long long time ago.

Perhaps your antivirus software is interfering with the process - I have had that happen before, and my solution when that occurred was to suspend it during the specific period of that download, then enable it again and scan that downloaded data to make sure it was clean prior to installation.

You could also exclude the Cakewalk site from being scanned, which would be similar to what I did above - in effect, but I reasoned it less risky to only skip scanning during the specific download, rather than exclude unconditionally.

There do NOT appear to be any Cakewalk-published MD5 Hash Values for X1d anywhere, but I think if you get through the download using Chrome, or use a real download manager, then I imagine you would be OK.

    Anyways, hope the above helps.

You don't need to download all the updates. They're cumulative, so the most recent one contains all the others.

    Beat me to it John!!

X1 for we was totally unusable under X1a & X1b.

X1c was a little better but it was only when the X1d update was released that I regained a semblance of stability.

X3e blows it out of the water!!! Just saying

Thanks guys. I am using Chrome, and as a retired IT dev, I think I can handle my side of things. I did get the D patch, so I may just run with that. Still, it'd be nice to save to rest for posterity.

I will try and upgrade around March, if I can. But don't cross your fingers.

I just noticed also that there are some support links that are simply broken on the site. They don't go where they are supposed to; the Rapture 1.2 update for example takes you to a "you're lost" page. lol

Not what I meant Bristol. In the "Support by Product" page, linked below, there is a link at the bottom of the page to actually download the patch. It's broken.

The Rapture 1.2 update link has been broken at least since August 2014. Use this form http://www.cakewalk.com/About/Email/1 to report broken links. To get the update contact support.

Steve, do I really need the 1.2 update if I'm just going to install 1.2.2 later anyway? I.E. Are all these VST updates cumulative? This quest also applies to Dimension Pro 1.2 and 1.5 updates.

P.S. For some reason, my chrome DLM wasn't working right. Resume wasn't picking up where it left off. I switched to another system and got everything.

Unfortunately I'm not really sure!   The 1.2.2 update states that it applies to 1.2, but I don't know whether that means 1.2 is required in order to use the 1.2.2 update.

Probably best to contact support as scook mentioned just to be sure.

I found out the hard way that Chrome's DLM does NOT contain Resume functionality - there seems to be some beta thing that supports it in some fashion, but I too switched to something else that did have that.
