Sonar x2 producer keeps crashing

I have a hp 1 terabyte harddrive 125gb ssd drive. I7processor 3.4ghz. Windows 8. Sonar keeps crashing while doing projects and v vocal crashes also sometimes. Also when loading in projects the project won't load in and have to go to task manager to end sonar because it is not responding. Please help.

What is your sound card/audio interface and have you patched to latest version of X2?

Crash is a catchy word, but what does it actually mean? Exactly what happens when Sonar "crashes," what are you asking it to do? Do you see any error message? What exactly do you see? Does Windows stop working, or is the problem confined to using Sonar? What do you have to do to get Sonar running again after that happens? A good question sometimes takes more time and effort to write than a good answer.

As you mention the separate drives, what have you installed on them? Where's SONAR, where's the operating system? What kind of drives are they exactly?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Not much to go on, but if you have issues closing Sonar it sounds like a dodgy 32 bit plugin running on 64 bit Sonar, and/or your interface drivers need updating.

Also make sure you are on X2A
Vvocal can be prone to crashes as well.

    Cheers..

I updated my Sonar X2 with the patch, and it still crashes (blue screen).  I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.  I think I have the correct audio settings, ASIO, buffer size.  The main audio interface is to an M-AudioProjectMix I/O.  Only other interface is to an M-Audio MIDI Sport 4X4 to my MIDI hardware modules.  It crashes about 75% of the time, and only on exiting Sonar.

Blue Screen is a Windows "crash" not a SONAR crash per se and comes with an error message or code.
