Standalone piano softsynth

What's the best way to hook up an A-Pro 500 keyboard to a laptop and get a reasonable sounding piano synth?

I seem to recall that there used to be a standalone version of Dimension Pro, but I haven't been able to find it.

I'm trying to find a way to polish my keyboard chops during an upcoming hospital stay.

Thanks for any help.

The stand alone version of DimPro is installed with the dll. The default path for the 64bit stand alone version is "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro\Dimension Pro x64.exe"

Any VST plug-in can be hosted in http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm unless the plug-in is locked to a particular host. DimPro will load into VSTHost.

Thanks, Steve. I grabbed VSThost and it looks like it will work.
