Workaround for Staff View Snap Bug
For those who work in the staff view and use X3, X2 or X1, there's been a long-standing bug involving the snap function.
If you select a smaller note value (32nd, 16th, 8th for example) and enter notes, the next time you select a larger note value (whole, half, quarter) the snap function will not follow the larger value, it will remain at the smallest note value that you've used so far. This is problematic because when you click on a location in the staff to place a note, it can be placed in the wrong place, particularly if the snap function is stuck at the 32nd note.
The workaround:
1. Make sure that Sonar remembers the last note value (last option in the drop-down note-value menu)
2. Use keybinding to create a hot key that selects the largest note value in the drop-down menu.
3. To "reset" the snap function so that it works correctly, hit the hot key that selects the largest note value and then click on a whole, half or quarter note.
That's it, now you can enter larger note values again. The problem is that in one session, the snap function will get stuck on the smallest note value you select.
I've sent in problem reports about this for quite a while, perhaps it will be repaired in the next version.
