well you've not given us very much info to help with. how are you triggering it? from a sonar project? do you have a MIDI track? do you have the MIDI track set up to send the MIDI data to the Fantom? or are you trying to trigger it with a midi controller/keyboard? if so, how is the controller connected to the VS? how do you have the fantom connected to the computer? do you have the VS700 or just the fantom vs? if you have the vs700 do you have the fantom vs connected to the vs700 with a midi cable? do you have the audio outputs connected from the fantom to the vs? give us some more details, please.

sorry - looks like the fantom vs is integrated into the I/O, but most of my questions above still apply, just not the ones about how you have it connected to the VS700.

what is the output for your Master bus? has the I/O been profiled in sonar? is this the first time you're using the VS700? can you hear anything using demo projects or imported mp3s?

I have the exact same issue. installed latest drivers, editor, firmware, etc. I insert fantom VS as soft synth...load patches....no errors, but NO SOUND. Other softsynths in same project are working fine. very odd?

OK lets get this right, The Fantom GS is a hardware synth built in the the VS700. So why are you saying it's a VST plug in? Is that how it shows within Sonar? If it's a hardware synth then it will need midi data via the USB or MIDI cable from the computer, right?

Its a hardware synth integrated into the VS-700 which is connected via USB. Therefore, it should be available Did you install the VS-700 driver from the CD or download the latest version. Make sure your USB cable is unplugged when doing this. Follow the instructions in the VS-700 Getting Started Guide carefully. To use the Fantom VS, go to Insert-Softsynth and it should be available. If not, then you may have installed to a non-standard folder. If so, you'll have to tell Sonar where you put it and scan your VSTs again. Its always best to install Sonar to the default locations otherwise you could have problems. If you're able to insert it to the synth rack, then go to a MIDI track and set the Fantom VS as the Output. That should do it. Its all in the VS-700 manuals.

Ok. Try the same track using the TTS-1 as the softsynth instead of the Fantom. Do you hear any sound? If not, then its a problem with your setup, not the Fantom. What do you have selected in Options-Audio-Drivers?

I have a VS-700 and finally gave up on the Fantom, which, by the way, was a selling point for the package. It took all sorts of intervention from Sweetwater, and it worked for a while, but now it has stopped working. Disappointing.

If I were you I'd start a new thread, detailing all the information you can provide. Simply saying "I have no sound" is not going to help us (& therefore you) one bit, nor is tagging onto the end of a 3 year old thread.

Do you have the sliders for the Fantom VS up in the I/O editor? One thing that's annoyed me since I've had the VS700R is that all the mix levels you set up in the I/O editor don't seem to persist in The VS700R after power cycling so you have to load your mix at the start of every session!
