Paste to different (or new) Take Lane

After you copy a selection, I typically want to paste the selection into a new Lane, vs. overwriting and splitting the exiting clip if I want the pasted audio to appear in a new Lane.

If I highlight a new Take Lane and Paste the selected audio, it will not Paste into the selected Lane, but rather only Paste into the source Lane. Workarounds include pasting at the end of the clip as to not split it up, or onto a whole new track.

Could there be a function that will allow me to Paste into the selected/highlighted Lane, or at least in Paste Special, add a field below Destination: Starting Track for Lane #?

Thanks!

Brian
