Sonar (7) audio setting problem

Hi,

I am running Sonar 7, and am running into the following problem:

When I am running any VST and click on the VST window (which brings it to the top in windows) I stop getting audio. This means that I cannot preview drum loops, sounds, different settings, etc. while in the VST window. When I click on the Sonar window, I have audio again. On my last computer, I did not have this problem and can't figure out what setting I need to change.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

That's odd. My first instinct was to suggest the "share drivers with other applications" setting, but plugins shouldn't require that since they run under the same process as SONAR (ReWire being the exception). Check the setting anyway. In SONAR 7 it's under Options -> Audio -> Advanced.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I'll check that setting.  I'm pretty sure that's on; I'll toggle it if it isn't.  It is a goofy problem.  I thought Sonar basically hogged the audio drivers so this wouldn't happen.  If your idea doesn't work, I guess I'll try to reinstall.

    Thanks

It was set to share drivers.  I turned off that and tried it before turning it back on.  Now it works fine.

    Thanks!

Are you perhaps running the standalone versions of your VST plugins, because that would explain what is happening in your case.
