Ordered-overwith and done-too much stress otherwise

Ordered boxed version Platinum from Sweetwater. My rep at Sweetwater told me it will be released (to them anyway) Jan 26th and will ship immediately.

I couldn't handle all the stress and deciding, etc, etc.

I'll worry about next year, next year. Had to buy today-it's my birthday present to myself from myself

My birthday is the 26th, along with Jazzy B, Andrew Ridgley and Eddie Van Halen. I'm pondering treating myself, but I may go for a Squire Jazz Bass instead

Ha, I feel the same way! Since I would have paid $149 to upgrade to X4 anyway, I'm not out anything and I'll leave it to the bakers to convince me next year that I made the right decision. I'm actually reasonable optimistic. With all the hiring they've been doing I hoping we get more in-house development of useful tools. If I can cut my 3rd party purchases by 50% then I've already paid for next year. We'll see.....

    PS: Happy Birthday!

Interesting - So you can PRE ORDER it from a third party store but not from Cakewalk itself.

I agree. Trying to save $100 is one thing but I don't think this way at a nice restaurant. Especially since this is a main passion. Go buy a golf cart for $4500

No offense, but 30 years ago I would have skipped your Birthday party and went to Eddies. I have a Squire Jazzmaster with a P pickup and J at the bridge( although it's a actual Jazz neck pickup) and the 30" neck and I love it.

    It's Bass, not Bass.

I had a good eleventh birthday, I got and we watched Time Bandits on Betamax and there was Trifle. Would have been your loss mate.

Got a confirmation email from Thomann last night and it seem I'll escape UK Tax by shipping here direct. So I may go for both J Bass and Platinum.

Major National holiday mid February , so a nice time to spend getting familiar with both
