"Public" BETAs would be nice.

 Some got invites some didn't.

As having licenses for Reason, Live and FL Studio, I can always test upcoming releases. These were not demos. I could save any project.  So does the new membership model do something like this?

AFAIK there are no public beta releases of Cakewalk products.

Sounds like there are two parts to your question:
    1) We don't have public betas - that's what our beta team is for :)
    2) Membership offers the most current version of SONAR constantly through our shiny new Command Center.
