New SONAR question: off-line workstations

Taking the user poll a few months ago I had a feeling this change was about to happen.  My concern was, and still is, what about those of us with off-line workstations.  I love that I'm running X3 Producer, which I just upgraded to, on my hand-crafted off-line supercomputer, right?  What now?  Is there a way to install and properly run the new SONAR on a computer that never goes online?

It is still possible to download and install the new SONAR like previous versions. There is also a boxed upgrade available. The authentication method has changed. Read about it here http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Introduction.28.html# and see the move http://youtu.be/roIgly_GjoI

Of course, XLN still requires an internet connection to download and install their products.

Cakewalk allows for offline authorization. This is explained thoroughly in another thread. I'll try finding the post Noel did.

Thanks for the information, was searching but...

XLN installation procedure is a sharp thorn in my side, not having an online DAW.  Their bundled software looks great and everyone loves it...I just don't bother with it.  Too bad.  Still use Session Drummer...

Here's his post, there's more info in the thread but you have to wade through the low-quality information to find it.

Yeah, I was going to post the link but thought the process description would be more helpful. It is nice to get confirmation about swapping out hardware and authentication. I may generate an offline authentication file for backup purposes.
