XLNAudio (Addictive Drums) is back on my Great Vendor List.
Received a very nice email from XLNAudio concerning my complaint about the confusion that their WEB site gave concerning the difference between and Addictive Drums 2 "Upgrade" and the "Engine". Let's just say that they made a very nice offer that I accepted. This is good since I like the sound of AD products and will be purchasing more kits from them. Walt

I emailed them, too, Walt, as I have upgraded to AD2 already and bought the Fairfax Volume 1. The Producers Bundle does let you choose any 3 ADpaks, any 3 MIDIpaks, and any 3 Kitpiece Paks. So it'll be interesting to see if/when I get a response from xln, how amenable they are. Michael

I hear new adpaks are coming in 2015. Since I own them all, I'll just claim any new ones as they arrive.

I still haven't decided on my three AD Paks. Can you poke harder?

I spent a bunch of time on AD2 last night and feel like I'm finally understanding how to make a ride sound like I want. It has been a learning curve for me, whereas other drum software just gets me the right sound automatically (if I pick a good one).
The difference, however, is that with AD2 you can really, really tweak the sound, whereas other ones I've been using give just one sound. So AD2 impresses me a lot. But it's been a learning curve experience. It has a lot of adjustments possible around velocity sensitivity etc.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Groove3 has a good video on AD2. There's good stuff on YouTube also. I love when there's enough there you can't absorb it all at once. There's a lot in AD2.

I'm also deciding on which 3 to get......so far, I'm getting Fairfax 2. (I'm thinking about getting 2 paks for Rock/funk and 1 for electronic music). Any thoughts on Reel Machines?
