What is this tsss sound before playback when moving transport to the next marker or start?

There is significant loud (well- relative to the volume) "tsssss" sound every time when using markers or set song to beginning, end, or moving to any part of the song in New Sonar. Before playback begins, it is almost like it has to rewind audio and you hear it go "tsssss"- it is audible and in headphones it makes you expect unexpected and cringe. Any remedy for it? Thank you.

Myself I get that when I move my wireless mouse around. I don't get it if I use a hardwired mouse. I think it's something in the GUI/ Video drivers. Ignore it.

    Hi vladasyn-

I'm on X3e and I don't know if it's exactly the same sound, but I get a very short audio burst (almost like a loud spit) sometimes, too. It seems it's when I've opened/closed the Preferences window or when starting/stopping playback. I'll pay more attention to exactly when it happens and report back because it can be pretty startling and I'd like to know how to avoid it, too.

    Thanks-

This is sound of rewinding audio. I was working with the song with less audio data in it and the sound was not obvious. The song with many tracks makes sound on jumping from part to part. It is like if it was trying to playback it at 100x speed before it gets in position.

That is different from the noise I'm hearing, then.

Check you are on the latest interface drivers.

Is this with all projects? Try turning off your plugins in the project to see if it makes any difference...
Also check with your interface software to see if the sample rates are flipping around.

Its not normal and not caused by SONAR. If you are hearing noise in a simple project with no fx at all (some fx can create noise), there could be a few causes one of which is grounding issues in your computer. Poor electrical isolation in a computer can result in noise that gets into the audio interface signal. Its not that uncommon for the video card to generate noise when the display change in this circumstance, or even spinning hard drives to generate noise.

Your system is pretty old I would hardly expect it to run perfectly. You've gotten good mileage from that for sure.
