Sonar Platinum control bar staying lit after closing project

When I close a project, some of the buttons and boxes in the control bar remain lit. Is anyone else with the new version experiencing this? X2a and X3e are also installed on my main system and it now happens with them as well. I installed the demo on a Dell Precision Laptop and it does the same thing so I doubt it is specific to my system. Don't see an easy way to upload an image so I'll list the items on the control bar that stay lit up after I close a project.

Smart Tool
Event Draw Duration
Smart Grid Toggle
The Now Line slider
Metronome During Record
Loop Start and Loop Thru
Select From and Thru

All chipset and video drivers up to date. Both systems running Windows 7 64 bit with ATI graphic cards.

Install went smooth and previous settings migrated from X3e with no problems. All I had to do was go into preferences and set the projects path to a new location.

Thanks

I can confirm the same behavior on my system. I never noticed that in X3e before so I think this must be new. The Smart retains the last selection. You can add MTC and Transmit MIDI Clock to that list...

Thanks for the replies! I am glad that I am not the only one seeing this especially because I've seen it on two different systems.

"Where'd you get the demo?"

My mistake, I meant to say I installed Sonar Platinum on my laptop in Demo mode.

Does it happen with new projects or only with projects made in a previous version of SONAR?

I have not seen it. Is it something that can be put into a series of reproducible steps using a new project?

Steps to recreate

Open Sonar Platinum
Create a new project
Close project (no need to save it)
Certain items in the Control Bar will still be lit up, and some with data from the closed project (Loop Start and Thru for example)

Even though the certain items I mentioned in my first post are lit up and appear active, the buttons are not responsive to the mouse. When I close Sonar and reopen, all appears normal again.

I see this on my laptop. It uses a ATI graphics card and its running Windows 7 32 bit. The same thing is showing on my desktop with Nvidia graphics card and Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Before a projects is loaded nothing in one on the CB . After loading a project and closing it some modules lighted buttons stay lit.

I don't see this as a problem.

Best

I don't think this is new to Platinum. My X3e installation does this on a system that has not yet seen Platinum. I did think it was a little odd when I first became aware of it, but I'm not sure when it showed up.

In any case it doesn't cause any problems that I'm aware of.

I guess, I have never noticed before. When I preform the steps
Start SONAR
Create new project
Close new project
on both X3e Producer and Platinum

The state of the control bar is different than when either program was initialized. Is this what you are seeing?

X3 on startup

X3 after create/close project

Platinum on startup

Platinum after create/close project

That's it exactly scook thank you for getting those images up to make it more clear.

It does not appear to affect anything but I would imagine this is unintended behavior that should be reported.

Thanks again for the replies and help!

Yeah, it appears there are some cosmetic issues with the control bar. I did not test X1 or X2 but would not be surprised if they have the same behavior.

FWIW, there are a couple of tutorials on how to get images into posts in this thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3118795

As Dave mentioned, this existed in X3e as I also have not yet installed SONAR Platinum and the screen captures posted above (for X3e) are accurate.

I just tried it on X2a to check, and it is similar there.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
