Disable your antivirus before installing!

 
 
Be sure to disable your Anti-Virus software before installing SONAR!  I didn't ... and paid the price.

In the Command Center, I was doing an "Install All" on the SONAR Platinum button, when eventually my Avast anti-virus reported a (suspected) virus in the main SONAR Platinum program (SONAR_Platinum_Setup_21.0.1.254.exe).

This caused me quite a deal of grief.  First, it seemed to cause the Command Center to abort.  After I turned off Avast, I then had to remove SONAR_Platinum_Setup_21.0.1.254.exe and re-download it.  Then it seemed I could no longer do an "Install All" and instead had to manually go through each of the 13 items for SONAR Platinum.  And after each one, the Command Center would then check all programs again, to see if there were any updates ... which took a bit of time.

Anyway, my installation turned into somewhat of a big hassle.

MORAL: Dis-able your antivirus.

Only after completing installation, did I see in the ReadMe file (C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum\Readme.rtf) this item:

Disable Anti-Virus/Spyware Software

Please disable any anti-virus or spyware software before installing SONAR. Utilities such as "Spyware Doctor" have been known to interfere with the SONAR installation. Such utilities need not be uninstalled or removed from your system, only temporarily disabled.
