Your favorite 'go-to music creation' news sites?

Hi everyone. New guy here. /waves

I'm new to Sonar, new to DAWs and also new to music creation. I hoped then that some of you might suggest some good web sites to keep up on things?

I'm interested in 'news' type sites I guess then, where you can get the latest news on instrument releases, industry announcements, new hardware/software reviews, that sorta thing I guess? What are your favorite go-to sites?

    I don't have any, but used to subscribe to SOS 15 plus years ago. The website holds articles a few months after they are released, so I guess not new, but it's a good source of info for someone starting out

    The KVR forum is one to bookmark for sure.

    I used to rely on KVR a lot, but it's a bit too busy for my taste in terms of content.

    These forums and Facebook is where I get most of my news these days. Facebook makes it easy to channel all the news from SOS, Pro Tools Expert, Logic Expert and every manufacturer you wish to follow in one place.

    kvraudio.com is the best place to find out about new products, despite its (dis)reputation. Look past the whining, sniping and ignorance-based strong opinions and pick out the occasional gems. It's the primary forum for developers, the best place to speak directly to the person who wrote your software. Most vendors have their "official" support forums hosted there.

    gearslutz.com is good for an occasional visit. The rampant ignorance is off-putting, but the sheer number of users (it's far and away the largest forum of its type) means there are some genuine experts in the crowd. The mastering and acoustics forums offer the best signal-to-noise ratio.

    If you're into orchestration and/or sampled instruments, vi-control.net is one of the more civil neighborhoods.

    @Kamikaze
    I totally forgot to also look up music magazines online and that's given me a few more places to watch now in addition your suggestion of SOS. Thanks.

    @all
    Thanks to everyone else for your suggestions. I appreciate you taking the time to point the way for me. /bow

    I look forward to the day, whenever it might be, that I get to post a song for everyone to hear, here at Sonar. You all do seem like a very nice, supportive bunch of folks... and that goes a long way when exposing yourself creatively.
