Anybody know how to use multi outputs with Steven Slate SSD4 drum sampler and Sonar X3?

I've tried to use the multi output option to route individual drums to audio tracks for individual editing purposes. I've watched many videos on how to do this but I can't seem to find one that has the person using Sonar X3. Or any Sonar for that matter. The plugin shows up in my input options on the audio track, as 1: Left (mono), 2: Right (mono), 1/2 (stereo), 3: Left (mono) 4: Right (mono) 3/4 (stereo), as so on as so forth all the way through 24 inputs. SSD4 drum sampler plugin has an option within the plugin to view the mixer and control the outputs to route to your DAW. But when I try to correspond the plugin outputs to the audio inputs it changes the audio track into a midi/synth track in Sonar and cannot even be armed for recording. Halp.
