Changed WDM/KS Driver for ASIO and glitches gone

Hi Everybody. Well duh. I am amazed. I have been using the WDM/KS drivers forever in SONAR. Over the past few years glitches and dropouts have multiplied to where I have programmed a "hot key" to stop and restart the audio engine in SONAR (I use X3 64 bit). I have searched high and low for a solution and even considered changing soundcards and all sorts of stuff. Today I changed the driver being used from WDM/KS to ASIO and SONAR X3 is as stable as a rock! We shall see how things play out over the next few weeks but so far it's magic. 

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.
 
SONAR Platinum 64bit, Windows  10 Pro 64bit, Polywell Core i7 x98 3.33GHz, 24GB RAM

    Yep, ASIO drivers are recommended when available.
     
    Sorry you've been making do with sub-par drivers until now.  Send up a smoke-signal next time, will ya?!

    Some cards have a favourite, and for pro cards, that favourite is often ASIO. Always one of the first things to try with a new card: If one mode gives you issues, try another. Some cards are happy as clams in any mode, others are complainy and only like one.

    I'm sure I read somewhere when I bought x3 that they recommended using ASIO drivers, at least its all sorted now :)

    UPDATE: Ran a large project today. Still glitch free. Mixdown over the next few days.
