I love you guys!

I have been with Cakewalk for a very long time, and I've seen good releases and bad releases. When Cakewalk announced their new pricing and everyone posted their puzzled and frustrated posts, I was afraid of where this was going. For the record, I'm the CEO of a software company with about 40,000 users and we moved to a similar model a few years back, so I know EXACTLY what it feels like to be on their end. I have to give them mad props for how they conducted themselves in the face of the lies, misunderstandings, accusations, frustrations, etc. I also have a great respect for how little they censor this board, and how they are willing to take any lumps they do earn. The fact that they invested in architecture and deployment solutions rather than more and more features for marketing bullets is a GREAT thing for us users. There must be some pretty good leadership at the top.

But I also have to say this community continues to show me why it's the only one I visit every day - multiple times a day. For the most part, people are very respectful even when extremely frustrated. In addition, there are so many people here willing to help with just about ANYTHING someone asks about yet even the most ardent fan boy will call out Cakewalk when it's warranted (and that's a good thing). It's extremely difficult - if not impossible - to artificially build a community like this. They have to evolve and they have to be nurtured. This is something very special here.

While my day job has nothing to do with music, music is my hobby and my true love, and much of that centers around Cakewalk and this community. So, I thank you all, and I warn you - don't frack it up for me!

I visit other forums around on the web but I, too, frequent this place every time I get a chance. I applaud Cake for the way the forum is conducted and I bow to the members on here every day. Anyone that wants some advice about DAWS and audio recording in general always get pointed to this forum. I've made some great friends here over the years and look forward to making more. Now back to Platinum! LOL

Alot of you have been helpful through out the years and I want to give my appreciation from technical difficulties to Phuket hmmm I mean that sincerely it has been fun with some roller coaster rides even from the discussions with Sonar 8 to the X series and how people felt about it. I can stand and say im loving the experience with the X factoring in.

Great post and I agree. Over at Gearslutz many posters slag off Gibson, Cakewalk, Sonar, Craig Anderton and this Forum, but my observations and experience is completely different. Responsive and wonderful help from all on here.

Couldn't agree more! The forum members here are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful (very scout-like if you asked me!)

I also visit Gear Slutz from time to time but the aggressive, dismissive and condescending tone just turns me off.  It's a shame more forums couldn't be like this one!  :o)

    Peace!

I think you'll find strong support for your sentiments here.  I visit this forum almost daily and I've found the members to be helpful and, at times, almost saintly in their patience.  Thanks to everyone who makes this a great place.

I've asked more "dumb questions" here than I can count but I can't recall ever getting a condescending reply.
Over the years I have met a lot of people here (including some of the bakers) I now consider friends.
For me it's not just a place to come to get an answer to an issue I'm having but a great place to come while having my morning coffee in lieu of reading a newspaper.
    Thanks very much my friends,
    Randy

    +1 James

I think the recent changes are going to be a win/win situation for both the company AND end-users.
    I don't see any downside...

Any time a company is bought, there's always going to be some apprehension.
IMO, Having Craig Anderton on board quelled some of that apprehension... but we were all waiting to see.
Thus far, Gibson/Cakewalk has been making good forward progress.

Gibson is one of the great "heritage" US companies that's managed to thrive.
Though we might not like all their decisions (ie: min-Etune on all 2015 Les Paul models ), they're obviously doing something right.

    Best Regards,
