Copy and paste not working

Every time I try to copy clips in X2 when I go to paste nothing happens.  I'm using "copy" not "copy special".  In any case nothing happens.  I have "Events in Tracks" and "Track/Bus Automation" checked.  Any thoughts?

    I've had that happen to me too in X3e. Not sure why. If I use Copy Special, it pastes okay. Once again not sure why.

    When you are pasting are you selecting a track to paste it into?  Ideally if you use Paste Special (Control Alt V) you'd indicate which track number and what starting time etc. you want the paste to occur on.

    Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

    Yes, when I had this issue, I made sure I selected the track I was working on.
