I am so glad I went to the two shows here in Melbourne last November. Both gigs were excellent. One in a huge room but it was still amazing and the other in a small theatre which was also amazing. His presence was massive in that small theatre. The music is so different to anything previous. He was changing all the time and the latest music was incredible. He did not sit still in terms of writing. The CD that was released in Australia was one of his last. (Mala Kunia) There is another album or two that came after the 2014 concerts last year. He wanted to do 50 years and from 1967 that would have been 2017. But even so at almost 48 years and over 140 albums isn't bad either. He influenced me big time in terms of electronic music composition. Some of his earlier line ups were also amazing. ('Logos' for me being one of my faves) The current band was something else too.

jamesg1213 Mosh will be gutted.
Now that I am able to log back into this forum! but they took away my 5k+ previous posts! Yeah ... I have long ago, when Rich Wright died, known that I may live to see a lot of my "friends" pass away, and many of these I did not see in concert. I did see TD 4 times, and I never felt cheated, though a girlfriend of mine here in the Portland area in the late 80's even asked, if that was music ... I did not answer. I never thought that an answer was necessary for that kind of comment. I have lived for the last 45 years, by the shoes and socks of many of these folks, and they have all added a lot to my life and living, most of which was inspiration to continue the next day and not quit work here and there and all that. However, it never felt like "resignation", and in some cases, there was ever more defiance and attitude to contend with ... but I did not quit, and you could say I forgot how to do so, and sometimes ... a bit too much and too long there, but ... still in one piece. All in all, I'm sad that no more music will come along, or even his long awaited autobiography, that promised to have many juicy stories, just like all the music ever was! Do I have any favorites? Nope ... I can easily list 10 albums that I love to listen to, and in my car right now ... wouldn't you know it ... "Stratosfear" and "Cyclone" was playing this morning. I guess I have a few things to purchase in the next couple of months ... and please ... I do not wish to read about Vangelis, Peter Hammill, Klaus Schulze or a Mike Oldfield ... they are in the same pantheon of mine. No rock stars, unfortunately for any of you ... and/or Fenders or Gibsons! Just pure music ... I doubt that you can ask for more, and gain any more than that from anyone in your life ... maybe a loved one though I have never been lucky enough to experience that. With care, Edgar ... would you care to send me your cosmic address, so I can continue writing poetry to your music?

Hi, (fudge ... the link was taken away again !!!! )(Electric Mandarine Tour btw on that Tube) Around 28 minutes into this ... "Blue Bridge" from the 2010 Volt Live album ... a beautiful duet between Linda Spa and Edgar Froese ... and you get to see what an old man can do with one of those things! Still play it! (btw ... anyone know what guitar that is? ... Stratus Graphite?)

For all Tangerine Dream lovers they have released a triple album set of all the gis they did in Melbourne last November. The last actual live gigs ever that Edgar did. It is only 18 EURO for all three CD's which is not much really. The albums are all 80 minutes long so you get a lot of music. The link to this is: http://www.tangerinedream-music.com/download/ They are mp3 downloads but they are at 320K Bits/sec so it sounds pretty nice. The first two CD's are the live perf they did in the Town Hall in Melbourne. Now it did sound great and all but it is real nice to hear it all up close on great speakers rather than through a giant PA some distance from the stage. It has all been nicely recorded and mixed of course. There is just so much more detail to be heard in the CD's. The third CD is the theatre gig where they performed the latest version of Sorcerer to the film. This sounded incredible live but it is nice to hear that all again too. There was a lot of detail in the theatre gig because the venue was small and intimate and the PA sounded awesome. But the CD also sounds great too. That is when they pulled in the extra Moog Voyagers etc and what looked like the Dave Smith Prophet 12. FAT!!!

Jeff, is the triple album set you're referring to "Phaedra Farewell Tour 2014 - The Concerts" or "Supernormal - The Australian Concerts 2014"?

Cool, thanks. Both of those I mentioned were 3-CD's and (amazingly enough) I don't own either one! I also don't own Booster VII, but I'll eventually complete my collection and get all of these. I wonder if Edgar's kid will take up the reigns and if he'll be accepted if he did...
