who's jumping on the ReMatrix upgrade??

I realize $189 [upgrade] is a lot less than $319 ...but it's hard to spend that amount when there's other options, much less costly.  Yeah..in the scope of things it's cheap...but more than my Platinum upgrade!!

I'm inclined to say I would never buy another reverb. I have them already and they work just fine. In fact the REMatrix ProChannel one IR version sounds especially good.

But after saying that, I have checked the full version out and I'm pretty close to justifying / rationalizing to myself that it should be in my toolbox. It's way cool.

I'm just not sure why I'd care. I guess if I liked playing with reverbs more, but I like findinf a good sounding hall and using that on everything, making it sound like it is all in one, real, room. I think I stick with what I have.

Plus with Mercury we'll also be getting H-Verb free soon too.

I was interested untill I noticed it's 242,07 dollars for me in Europe. That's including VAT, but the conversion rate is way off.

At $250 CDN it's WAY too rich for me. That's more than my annual Sonar dues.

Probably, though I keep wanting to get Reverberate as well. Doesn't have 5 IR channels, but it does have 2, and they are both true stereo.

I need to experiment with it more. I'm actually mixing drier and more drier lately. It's a dry phase I know. :)

I'm jumping on it. I like how it sounds and the controls are both deep and intuitive. If it wasn't at the current discount I couldn't justify it.

While I'll continue to use the other kinds of reverbs like Valhalla, Breverb, and Softube's TSAR reverb, and now the ReMatrix in the ProChannel (which has really caught my fancy), this version of ReMatrix I'm thinking I'll use when I need to get a certain reverb sound and the others are just not offering it up easily.

I might even end up using this as the primary one after I use it for a while.

Follow up on this.  Very glad I picked it up.  Enjoyable and easy to get sounds I've been finding elusive.  I totally get why folks would hold off, especially if they are wrestling with putting in $149 to upgrade to Platinum.  But if you already have Platinum, and this discounted offer is somewhat rationalizable in your budget stream, it is in fact a good product.

I had told myself, no I don't need anymore Reverns.

But LJ, you got me thinking. I will go take a look and see what it's all about.

I have lots of really good IR files. And listening to them on ReMatrix solo was an eye opener. Like you LJ, I was able to dial in a really good room sound that just kinda glued everything together. Like it was all in the same room! So now I am going check it out.

But $189? I still haven't justified that yet. For me that's a big sticking point.

The full version is very cool.  Haven't had a lot of time to play w/ it, but the presets (and there are loads of 'em) sound great and varied.  That is always a bonus by giving you good starting points.  And almost every reverb sounds too reverby for me, even tho I love psychedelica.  So I have had some fun simply by pulling down different levels in the presets to quickly alter the overall sound.

The update price is nice, considering the quality and # of impulses.  And if you look at some of the other top line reverbs, the price ain't out of line for a brand new product.

Is it going to stay at the $189 price? I might look more into it eventually once I have time to play around with it. I have reverbs I love right now though and I'm not sure the multi-reverb thing is as needed as they make it seem. Maybe if it goes on sale.

I'll wait. Back in the holidays it was (direct from Overloud) on sale for $149. I just could not afford it then. I can wait until it's $149 again even if it's the end of this year.

I probably won't upgrade.  I've got Waves Gold's reverbs, an EMT Plate by UAD and several others that don't come to mind at the moment but basically, I'm reverb-y enough.

I won't upgrade either. Like others have said I have enough reverbs too. I've over spent on plugins in the last few months by getting Mercury and a few others that I'm skint. Even had to get Sonar Platinum monthly. noooooooooooooo..........ooooo...oo.o

I bought it half price blackfriday. I don't have many vsts and wanted a good convo reverb. Plus I like overload as a company ( happy CW are working with them!)

It uses similar protection to waves. It sounds terrific and does not weigh down cup too heavily.

I'm actually really liking the PC version that came in Platinum. I think using that and Eventide's UltraReverb is good enough for my convolution and algorithmic reverb needs for now. Both sound great and are easy to get good results with quickly.
