Use two monitors
Is it possible to use 2 monitors with Sonar Artist so you can have the tracks on one monitor and the piano roll of a track on the other monitor? Thanks J-Louis

Yes, when you open PRV it will open in a tab. Grab the tab and drag it to your second monitor.

use the multidock feature on the second monitor and you'll love it... setup a tab for the console, one for PRV, one for each VSTi, etc.

And be careful, the other day I had switched off my second monitor and when I opened a project I was going nuts looking for the sub GUI's for effects and stuff,,, duh! They stay on the second monitor right were you leave them idiot. So just don't leave stuff laying around on the second monitor and try and open it on one screen.

Been there, done that. I have a 46" monitor/TV (installed above my two 27" monitors, not shown in my Avatar). Sometimes I display iZotope Insight during mixing on the upper screen. Shut the system down for the day, and next day I don't turn on the 46" monitor and have to figure out why I can't see my iZotope screens... Walt

Or once I was reformatting the multi-monitor settings and turned off my main screen with the application, leaving 2 as the main. After I shut down and returned the next day, it booted without the main display, leaving number 2 as the second. All my controls, start menu, folder shortcuts etc were hidden on the disabled number 1 monitor. lol I had no way to open anything and had to puzzle it back to reset it back. Sometimes you just gotta SMH @Self.

That card seems to have enough ports to do what you want and more. Which ports you use depends on what inputs your monitors have.

Mway: If you are in a screenset where you have undocked a piano roll, and then have closed it, it seems that screenset will open other MIDI tracks undocked. Dunno why, but it seems to be that way. WallyG: That video card only has 2 digital outs. You must have another video card installed along with that one??
