Platinum drops audio on closing

This is occurring fairly regularly. I'll work on a project for a while, do a mix down and then close after saving. Instead of remaining open for next project, Plt will simply exit. When I go to restart, it doesn't see my Roland Quad-Core and I have to un-plug/re-plug it for Plt to 'see it'. 
 
X3e had a habit of dropping the RQC drivers from itself, despite still on Windows and able to play sounds/audio files. This was not necessarily the same as above when closing programs, although it did occasionally do this.
 
I'm just getting this issue with Plt regularly today.
 
Any of you guys had this or finding it recently?
