Anyone here into the music of John Carpenter?

Hey!

Im a huge fan of the soundtracks that John Carpenter made back in the days for movies like Escape from New York, The Thing, Christine, The Fog etc...
I was happy to say the least when I read that he's releasing a new album, no movie attached to the project on the 3rd of February.

I'm certainly a fan. I think he's brilliant in the Thing and Christine.

Really looking forward to this release. Would love to be able to eventually (I'm new to all of this.) craft something that sounds like his work. Takes me back to when cinema was 'fun'. :)

Yep great music, in fact some movies I get so distracted by the awesome soundtrack that I forget to pay attention to what's going on. Bernard Herrmann is another great one, who can forget the soundtrack to Taxi Driver with those menacing chords and the haunting sax melody.

Bernard Herrmann is another favorite of mine. Taxi driver is fantastic but also stuff like North by Northwest, Psycho etc.

John Carpenter...didn't he do the soundtracks for the 'Saw' movies...or was it a Hammer Horror...?

Perhaps I'm thinking of Nine Inch Nails...

    Dear James

If you need to embolden your puns, then I have to seriously question whether or knot they are worth making.

Wooden it be better if yew were to allow your more intelligous readers to spot them unaided.

The sapisfaction I normally gain once I've twigged one of your humorous word machinations has been completely ruined on this particular occasion.

So you're saying I should just let them dovetail into the sentence, as a rule? Well that's plane enough.
