Set default plugins for all tracks?

Is there any simple way to set a default list of plugins that I want on every new track?
I am using Console 1 and I am looking for a way to avoid adding it manually on every track...

Manual is the only way to go but having done it once you save that track or tracks as a track or project template Then you can use that template anytime you want.
There are a number of shortcuts to add the same plugin to a number of tracks/channels. Best place to look is in the help file which you access by pressing F1 with Sonar open.

If you have the ProChannel that's already setup with some default plugins available on every track and bus.

Yeah track templates are fine when you are not creating VSTi instruments... Can the default prochannel plugins be customized?

Track templates aye nothing to do with VSTis.

You could setup a single track and insert 10 fx plugins and make your settings etc. when you save it as a track template that track will be inserted with all the plugins and settings you saved in your track template.

Sorry I misread this post. Didn't see "not"

you can setup a VSTi with all its tracks, add all the fx you want and save that as a track template. all your routing etc all stays in tact. have a look at some of the installed track templates for ideas. there are those associated with included Sonar VSTis

I missed this one on your original answer

There are a number of shortcuts to add the same plugin to a number of tracks/channels.

There is no chance I'll find it in the help. This is exactly what I would need. Just select bunch of tracks and add console 1.

Currently there is no way to add a plug-in to selected tracks. It is possible to CTRL+drag and drop will copy a plug-in from FX rack to rack.

A way you might be able to manage the initial setup.

Sonar allows you to hide console strips. Let's say you want to insert a particular compressor to tracks 1,3,7,9
Hide all tracks till only those 4 are open. Add whichever plugins you want in all of them by placing a plugin in the first of the visible strips, hold down ctrl while click and drag to the networking 3 strips.
Then unhide strips and leave showing the ones you next want to add plugins too and gradually build up your setup that way. That's the only way I can think of to do what you want.

I've wanted that functionality for a long time now. Like you can change stuff for all channels by holding CTRL+clicking on what you want in the channel strip I would like to hold CTRL and add a VST to ALL tracks.

It's a bit of work but I actually have track templates for all VSTi i use on a regular basis. I've named them Omnisphere, Moog Modular etc... And to the track templates I've added Waves NLS and some other stuff since I use that on more or less everything. I never add synths anymore by going to "insert softsynth". I use track templates. I also have for adding regular audiotracks, one template for stereo and one for mono.

A work round for this is to use the plugins in the ProChannel, save it as a preset and then load the preset into multiple audio tracks at once use quick grouping (select tracks and hold ctrl key down while loading the preset).

That does load FX over multiple tracks at once.

You can put the Console 1 Plug-in into an FX-Chain in Pro-Channel. Save this as the default Pro-Channel setup. Now you have it on any track you insert.
