Backwards compatibility for projects with X3 from Platinum and membership question?

Has anyone seen any issues on projects saved in Platinum opening in X3?

Does Cakewalk still allow multiple versions of the product installed at the same time?

Will the 'membership' provide unannounced goodies or surprises to wow the members in the future? Cakewalk has a history of providing additional features and products surprising us with their kindness. It would be nice to see that continued behavior.

I am trying to find reasons to upgrade and don't want to miss the upgrade if there is something I absolutely need. I am looking, but not getting the impulsive temptation yet. :)

    Hi Conley.

    1. I've successfully opened projects started in X3, X2 & X1 without issue (so far)
    2. I also have X2, X3  & Platinum installed on all my machines.
    3. This is what they have said

No issues using Plat, X2 and X3.
I never recommend uninstalling previous versions.
When i get a new computer, I start fresh with just the newest version.

I've opened some Platinum projects in X3E with no problems.  There's also no problem having X3 (or X2 etc) and Platinum installed on the same machine.

I have only purchased the producer versions of Sonar.

When I open X projects in 8.5 a message is displayed about the project being created in a newer version.
The major problem has been envelopes have been hidden, making life un-fun for a while.

Platinum to X not producer: I would assume some stuff will not work.

But it is only $20 per month. And you will not have to wonder about any of it ever again.
