Oh, and despite the blizzard referenced on the previous page, I have had phone conversations with Cakewalk about what I'll be contributing to the next update. I presume they're asking me because they plan to do an update

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

I think the key word missing from cakewalk's projections is "-ish".

Seriously, folks, what's the big deal?  The cool stuff will come.  You've only had the new software for two weeks.

yeah, my question was rather just for some general timings of stuff... there's 3 items "next up for members" and a "special surprise"... i was hoping to get an idea of what might happen in the coming 12 months, is all

Geez, I haven't even had time to play with all the new stuff in Sonar Plat 2015 (can we get a short name here?)  I've been using Craig's "Jazz" amp Fx for the last week and that's taken all my time.  Let alone think of all the rest of the stuff, not to mention using it to, you know, actually make music.

As for new stuff.  The way I look at it is that CW has a year to sell the "goodie" part of membership.  Doubtless they realize that it's a important for success to have some pretty cool stuff.   After they dig out from 1meter of snow of course.

So it's all good.  The only thing for me is trying to find time to enjoy it all.

I must have tuned into the Dr. Phil show while I thought I was going to the sonar forum. Regardless this meaningless time wasting is priceless.

Does anyone know if the upcoming on screen keyboard will allow us to use out PC keyboard to play notes? Sometimes I find myself without any hardware connected and would really like the ability to play using my computer keyboard.

At the moment, we don't even know how big the glass is, or when it's going to be filled, or what we'll even be drinking.

The Namm show took enormous energy... I've been there... took me a week or more just to recover.  The launch of a huge new model/program and fine tuning early adopter experiences on top of the huge investment in responding to often repetitive and downright inaccurate posts during the launch is challenging for any small company.

Poking at gracious and often funny and helpful hosts, who give of their time freely to help those of us that need it...  It's just not right.

I'm sure the bakers have lots of wonderment in store and Platinum just came out.  Enjoy what is...

Endless wants and lack of appreciation for all we've received... it's just such a waste of spirit...mind you, we all want things.  Heck, I still hope to be able to hide all the unused tracks quickly fin my large templates from console view but know they are working on things they feel are more important...For now I'm lovin' what I have as it is amazing!

BTW, Alex... you turned into a "sheeple"!  Very cute...

Some of us simply prefer to focus on less nebulous things... like the current version of Platinum.  That is the glass I'm using at the moment, and it's full.  That doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to what CW plans to add to that glass over the next twelve months.   Maybe you trust that CW will deliver on what they've described, maybe you don't.  I'm happy with what I have so I am trusting that CW will come through.   To each their own...

hooray! it's here! downloading as soon as i get home. after January 31st came and went with no plugin, i was beginning to have doubts in my entire opinion about Cakewalk as an ongoing enterprise! but now that it's here, i'm totally soooo over that. i'm sure my 16/7 326bpm brazilian toaster jazz will sound great from now on.

/s, except for the part about downloading when i get home.

why? when x3 was released andrew even went onto kvr and spelt out the a, b, c, releases, albeit in a high-level way (as you'd expect) - it's not unreasonable to wonder where the membership sub goes...

The difference with X3 is that generally it was bug fixes and a couple of enhancements (if I remember correctly).

With the new membership model, its features and bug fixes. Announcing features could erode Cakewalk's competitive advantage

They have given us a couple of nuggets on their "next up" page.
