X3

I have not got X3 i'm considering it. How good is it does it top X2?
If so why and what are the benefits?
Is Melodyne really that good?
Addictive drums how good are they?

Yes I maybe late to the game but I have not been on this forum actively for ages...

    1. Much better, pretty much everyone agrees.
    2. Speed comping, VST3, Melodyne/ARA, stability, to name a few.
    3. Yes, if you do a lot of vocal edits I would call it indispensable.

By the way, Sonar X3 has since been surpassed by the new "Sonar" (Artist, Producer and Platinum).

The current version is Sonar 2015. X3 is old hat and no longer being sold by CW.

Yes, if you have X2 the best move may be to whatever-they-are-calling-the-current-version. Distributors are still trying to unload their inventory of X3, but if you buy the Sweetwater offer of producer upgrade from any version of Sonar at $149.00 you are no better off than the same upgrade to whatever-they-are-calling-the-current-version from X3 producer. If you have less than X3 producer, then you are probably looking at an additional $50 to get to the latest version of platinum plus the mystery bag which might or might not contain something you will find useful. If you are willing to wait until X3 becomes a dinosaur, you might find a better price somewhere.

You probably missed the boat on all the new 2010 vehicles too.

No, you just missed X3. The program is just called "SONAR" now because with the monthly updates, there's no big yearly version update. What's selling now would have been called SOANR X4 under the old model. I agree with Slartabartfast that your best option is to upgrade to the current version.
